We boarded the Norwegian "Pearl" and began our trip.



Isaiah loved making faces to get Bepah to laugh. She calls him "Honey Joe" when he's silly like that.

Off to a great start...

"Anticlimactic" is a great word to describe our flight to Seattle. We had prepped Isaiah for this great experience, and long story short (or long story REALLY long...), we arrived at our hotel in Seattle 9 hours later than we had planned.
We had a great two days in Seattle just exploring and finding yummy food and taking in the "culture" of Seattle.

Alaska, ho!

On Thursday morning we are headed to the airport to go to Seattle where our Cruise ship awaits. I am starting to get SO excited! Our family preparations (aside from tickets, etc.) began weeks ago at the library where we got a whole stack of books on the Iditarod, bears, huskies, flying on an airplane, ships and boats, etc. Every day we've read one and we've begun talking about our actual trip.
Isaiah is very excited about seeing whales and going to the airport. Tonight we went to Toys R Us and he got to pick out some new crayons and a 5-pack of new matchbox cars. Eric pulled four choices from the shelf and out of the four Isaiah chose the 'airport vehicles' (de-icer, re-fueler, etc.).
I'm grateful for the chance to go on this cruise. It will be a much needed rest and I'm really looking forward to spending time together as a family. Meeting some sled dog pups is an extra added plus.

July 4th Rump Roast

It is so fun to take the boys in the pool. Isaiah's really starting to get past some previous anxiety over swimming- thanks to his water wings- and he actually relaxes and enjoys it.
Anyway, here we are and it was just too cute to pass up a photo opportunity.

Something about me...

I came in contact with two people over the last month who I have not seen in years. After sending emails to both of them I realized that when they asked me about me, 98% of the information I gave them was actually about my children or my husband.
And I vowed long ago that I would never do that.

I will be listing some things about me.
I really enjoy cooking. This week my favorite dinner was chicken with couscous. I got the recipe off of Allrecipes. Chicken thighs, zucchini, green onion, carrot, cooked in chicken broth with coriander and curry powder. Yum.
What did you cook this week? Any recipe suggestions?

So at one point I wrote somewhere on this blog that I wondered how I would keep up with a blog when (at that point- in October) I was still not able to get a shower in every day. Well, low and behold. Here we are.
But I'm giving it another go.
